Abstract

Founded on an abundant herbaristic material (56 specimens) collected in Romania, the author offers a contribution to the knowledge of the variability of the species Macrolepiota procera (Scop.; Fr.) Sing. It is presented the type of species and 3 new varieties and 3 new forms: var. pallida with f. macrolepis and f. multisquamulosa, var. patentosquamosa with f. crassipes and var. exigua. A dichotomic key has been added which facilitate the recognising of the infraspecific units of the species Macrolepiota procera.
